Steven Soderbergh tapped budding composer Cliff Martinez to provide the music for ” Sex, Lies, and Videotape ” The film’s success launched a new era of independent film making, as well as put Martinez in the ring as a film composer. Martinez has gone on to create compositions made of beautiful and aggressively weird noises pulling notes from minimalism and ethnographic melodies alike.A mammoth steel drum,a baschet cristal and Cliff wages war with the ordinary! His scores mark the films themselves in a way that is unique and Cliff continues to push the boundaries of film scoring.
