Phillip Montgomery

A Minnesota native, Phillip graduated from NYU’s celebrated Film School in 2002 before moving to Los Angeles shortly thereafter. With numerous music video, commercial and short film credits to his name, in 2007 Phillip began writing, directing, and editing the feature documentary film ReGENERATION, produced and narrated by Academy Award Nominee, Ryan Gosling.

Marking Phillip’s feature film debut, ReGENERATION parallels many of the themes found in his next project, a narrative short-film titled THE ACTIVIST. Both focus on our culture’s apathy and cynicism towards social and political causes. ReGENERATION premiered at the 2010 Seattle International Film Festival to critical acclaim and was the recipient of the Youth Jury Award for Best FutureWave Feature. A few months later, THE ACTIVIST went on to win the top prize of BEST OF FEST during its world premiere screening at the 14th Annual LA ShortsFest. Both films continue to tour the Film Festival Circuit.

Phillip is currently in development on numerous fiction and non-fiction projects including an upcoming documentary focusing on the pending water crisis in Los Angeles.
