Wayan Palmieri
Wayan Palmieri is a stereoscopic workflow expert, specializing in editing and post production supervision.
Wayan was born and raised in the tropical island of Bali, Indonesia and has since lived throughout Spain, Europe, Brazil and America. At 19, Wayan moved to California to earn his degree in Audio & Video Engineering from the Los Angeles Recording School, now known as the LA Film School & LA Recording Workshop. In 1998, Wayan began a career Producing, DJ’ing and VJ’ing electronic music festivals across the globe, with attendees exceeding 25,000. He also freelanced as a video editor for music videos, concerts and commercials.
Wayan has always been an early adopter of cutting edge technologies, from the first version of Final Cut Pro, to live streaming, and most recently stereoscopic 3D. Wayan begin experimenting with the stereoscopic medium in 2005, and worked on his first live action 3D shoot in 2007. In 2009, Wayan helped create the stereoscopic 3D workflow for Digital Revolution Studios (DRS). From building the pipeline, to training and supervising, Wayan was named the CTO of the company and was also the lead depth-balancing artist for all their projects.
Wayan has helped DRS deliver over 14 hours of stereoscopic material to clients and 3D networks such a 3net (Imax, Sony and Discovery). Productions include the Telly 2011 award-winning show, “Bullproof”, along with “3D Safari Africa”, “Jillian’s Travels” and the first ever 3D telecast of an awards show, the 2011 3D Creative Awards, ”Your World in 3D”.
